Porter

Questions for discussion and journaling:
4. In the past, my writing has been evaluated based on rubrics, and usually the material that you are writing about. Unless, you are in a writing class, and your grade is based on your writing structure. But even then, it was usually based on a rubric. Based on this article writing shouldn't be graded though forums and discourse communities, before I read this article, I wasn't aware of this at all. I basically thought that all grading was usually if not always based of rubrics.
5. Originality is a major deal when it comes to writing. Everyone bases their writing off of something, which makes most of your writing not original. You may have some original parts to it, but usually it's not. You're getting ideas from others when writing. Which makes Porter correct about intertextuality. I don't believe that is text is very original because he uses other forms of text in his writing.
AE:
2. Plagiarism: Everything is your own. You may not barrow anything from anyone, everything must be original. Anything that is not sited, or includes a reference, fails you immediately. This reflects porters work, because according to him you may have legal consequences.
MM:
Porter has changed the way I look at writers. I usually imagine writers to have all of their work their own, and be original. Now that I know writers, get ideas and facts from other writers, it changes my view on writers. It may changed he way I write, giving me the idea that I can get ideas from other writers, but knowing how to get the idea's without plagiarizing.
